Course
Policies
Attendance is
required.
A strongly worded attendance policy is recommended.
Be sure to stress that lateness is unacceptable and that absences include
those granted or sanctioned by the Dean's Office. Students who miss
four meetings, for any reason, are "in danger of failing the course."
Cellphones should be set on vibrate or turned off
during class.
Increasingly, teachers are finding it necessary to include a formal
policy regulating the use of cellphones in the classroom. Especially
during the oral presentation period, cellphones are an intolerable distraction.
Students must submit two copies
of the final paper.
In order to discourage plagiarism, the course
coordinator will collect one copy of each final paper to be maintained
in a centralized file. This also makes it possible to accumulate
student examples.
Final grades are subject to
departmental review.
The department reserves the right to alter grades
in order to maintain class standards.
