Required Components
Assignments
You are encouraged to develop original activities or short assignments
that further the course objectives, but you must cover the following
required components of the course:
- Resume and cover letter assignment
- Library tour (which you must arrange with a reference librarian)
- Midterm paper assignment (collected and graded by midterm conference,
see below)
- Formal oral presentation assignment, with visual aids (you may need
to contact Media Services to use Smart Room technology or to request
equipment for presentations)
- Project Proposal assignment (15 to 25 pages, inclusive)
Conferences (a.k.a. Folder Review)
You must meet twice with the course coordinator during the term for
"folder review":
- Midterm conference (to discuss the graded midterm papers).
- Final conference (to review final papers and establish final grades
for the course).
While all grades are subject to departmental review, you are responsible
for grading the papers for the course, and you should come to folder
review with penciled grades on all papers. At this time, only the 302
Coordinator conducts folder review for 302. Sign up at 135 George Street
(or call 732-932-8856) about a week before folder review begins, when
schedules will be posted. Meet at Loree 006 with the 302 Coordinator
at your scheduled time with papers and your grade book.
