Introduction to Adobe FrameMaker

Adobe FrameMaker is a powerful page-layout tool. It is useful for designing things such as pamphlets, and either small or large print publications. The main attraction to FrameMaker is its ability to handle extremely large documents with ease. This includes keeping the upmost consistency between either one, or multiple documents.

This tutorial will provide you with all the information necessary to create your own publication in Adobe FrameMaker. While the latest version offered by Adobe is 6.0, this tutorial will focus on version 5.5.6 of the program, available on most lab computers.

Unfortunately, Adobe does not provide a demo version of the program for free download. Their own site offers the program at the price of $799. If you would like to purchase the program and are a Rutgers student, you can visit the bookstore on-line, search for "FrameMaker," and find it for a much more reasonable $367 (PC and/or Mac). An upgrade to 6.0 (from a previous version you may already own, if this is the case) will cost $199.98. Again, the program is available on most lab computers.

Next Step --> You're now ready to begin with Adobe FrameMaker basics.
