Course Description

Collaborative Writing Practices will provide you with both theoretical and experiential frames through which to examine the issues that need to be negotiated during collaborative writing. The work for the course will advance through increasingly complex tasks, beginning with an individual writing assignment then moving to an assignment for a pair of students, then an assignment for small groups, and concluding with a project put together by the entire class. The work for the course will focus around the writing assignments and your critical reflection upon them using our texts as a guide. Many classes will be held as computer workshops in an integrated computer environment to facilitate student collaboration. In the process of developing the final assignment, we will also learn some basic web page authoring software. Your grade will be based upon your general participation (as measured by teacher, self, and peer evaluations), five reflection essays, and your contribution to the four major assignments of the course. Attendance and participation are strictly required.
