About
the Authors
Christina
M. Henderson is
a University College non-traditional student trying to balance a
fulltime job with a major in Biological Sciences. She has a wide
range of interests that include reading and writing, equestrian
riding, and exploring the link between philosophy and science. Her
feature story "Recipe for Life" reflects her own continuing
attempts to integrate several methods of inquiry into a search for
answers.
Matthew
Herron ("Strange Attractions: A Physics Love Story")
is a Rutgers College sophomore interested in both physics and theater
arts. He finds time to explore quarks and bosons in between appearing
on television and starring in university performances such as Ionesco's
Rhinoceros.
Michael
Joyce, writer of "Tying Together Records from the Ocean:
An Interview with Kenneth Miller," is a transfer student who
started out as a physics major at the University of Rochester, but
luckily decided to return home to New Jersey. He's now a Rutgers
College junior with a major in Geological Sciences and an interest
in just about everything.
Theresa
V. Pesce is a University College student majoring in Exercise
Science and Sports Studies. Her firsthand knowledge of physical
therapy and its implications for clients and their families aided
her writing of "Hippotherapy." (That's Theresa holding
Trisha's leg in the accompanying photo.) Like all the other contributors,
Theresa has interests that go well beyond her field of study. She
is considering a career as a science writer.
Barbara
Hamilton (Editor) has taught at Rutgers University, Rider University,
Central Texas College, and Ocean County College. She is currently
Writing Program Coordinator for Busch Campus at Rutgers University
and instructor for Business and Technical Writing's Science Writing
course. A longtime science afficionado, she is nonetheless finishing
a dissertation on the female medieval mystics and refuses to acknowledge
any incongruity in her two academic passions.
